Lindsay on bass

The folks over here at MEA are putting forth a serious effort in what we do for our local music scene.  Sure, we’ve talked about it, we’ve had meetings over it, and we’ve had plenty of beer.  But seriously, we all have to step it up.  Now is the time to do it.

MEA has added me to the team, and for that, I am so excited.  I have been a music junky my entire life and a part of the Indianapolis music and business scene for the past two years.  My band, We’re Not Mexican, in which I sang and played bass, recently broke up.  With this breakup came heartache, but with heartache comes growth and new opportunities. And there is certainly stuff in the works.

But that’s beside the point. Kind of. Here’s the deal. For all of us who play music, we HAVE TO band together and make a movement.  We have to get out to each other’s shows, buy each other’s merch, and use word of mouth to get the freaking word out! (I personally use social media and blogging.)

For the visual artists and photographers, you have to get out and buy each other’s art, support one another.  We can’t do this alone.  We need everyone to come together.

We’ve got some amazing events coming up in the next couple of months, one of which is the one and only Broadripple Music Fest!  We are hosting the stage at Birdy's Bar and Grill with an amazing lineup.

Cheers…lindsay
